Moniza Alvi was born
in Pakistan and grew up in Hertfordshire. She has published six collections of poetry including
The Country at My Shoulder (OUP, 1993) and Europa
(Bloodaxe Books, 2008). In 2002 she received a Cholmondeley Award from the Society of Authors. Currently she is working
on versions of the French poet Jules Supervielle. She tutors for the Poetry School.
She has recently moved to Norfolk.
A F Harrold joins us this evening to launch his new
collection, Flood (Two Rivers Press), which builds on his excellent debut,
Logic and the Heart. Ashley is also a poet working in various styles including the
comic and performance poetry of his cabaret appearances and has run and programmed the popular Reading poetry
event, Poets' Café, for many years.
