Adrian teaches in a sixth form college and is preparing for an MA on Early Modern literature. His
first collection, The Effect of Coastal Processes (Two Rivers Press) was a Waterstone’s Best New Poetry
selection and was reviewed in The Guardian and De Groene Amsterdammer.The title poem was read on Radio 4’s

Achilles
'My dearest friend is dead –'
No ambrosia stems the decay
That brings the blowflies on the breeze,
That brings Achilles to his knees
In roadside grit.
For all his might,
For every one he brushes away,
Fanatical, two more alight.
